Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to commonly asked questions about Pothole Repairs
What causes potholes?
Potholes form when water gets into cracks in the asphalt, weakens the base, and expands during freeze-thaw cycles. Over time, traffic breaks the surface apart, creating a hole.
Can potholes be repaired permanently?
Yes—when repaired properly. A long-lasting repair requires removing damaged material, preparing the area, using hot asphalt, and compacting it correctly. Quick cold patch fixes are temporary and often fail quickly.
How quickly should potholes be repaired?
As soon as possible. Potholes grow rapidly once they start, leading to more damage, higher repair costs, and increased safety risks.
Do you use hot or cold asphalt?
We use hot asphalt whenever possible, delivered at the proper temperature using our heated hot box. This allows for better compaction, bonding, and a longer-lasting repair compared to cold patch.
How long does a pothole repair take?
Most repairs can be completed quickly, often within a few hours depending on size and quantity. Our goal is to minimize disruption and get your surface back in service fast.
When can the area be used after repair?
In most cases, the repaired area can be used shortly after completion. We’ll provide specific guidance based on the repair and conditions.
